Recent Reads & Listens  Hello, everyone! I'm here working on my little review pile and reading a few things just for me. Mixing them up is keeping me motivated and reading lots so I think I'll stick with this plan. These are the books I'm working on this week. Come Out, Come Out, Whatever You Are is an ARC and it is very late 😔 The other two are just for me. I adore the Monstrous series  about monsters finding their soul mates SO  much. The Betwixt & Between books are amusing but the jokes sometimes don't land for me and feel a little forced. There's only one more until I'm caught up so I'll probably finish just to say I'm finally caught up with a series for once in my life. Additions to the TBR I haven't had a chance to share the books my family gifted me last month!  I love Sodergren's writing and am looking forward to catching up with his work. The Hell Hath Only Fury sounds amazing.  Hopefully I can squeeze them all in soonish. R...

Recent Reads & Listens  Hello, everyone! I hope you've been reading some good stuff. I'm working on these this week. Soul Eater is a delightful monster-romance that I'm reading just for me on KU - I am determined to get some use out of KU, Leech is a received-for-review consideration book (and it's a little slow right now but I'm getting through it) and I'm listening to Just Like Home on audio for the Horror Spotlight chat . Link Ups In an effort to actually be social again in the book blogging world, I'm going to be linking this post up to  Caffeinated Reviewer's Sunday Post ,  The Sunday Salon at Readerbuzz  and  It's Monday! What Are You Reading at Book Date .  Link yourself up and make some new blogging friends! Additions to the TBR This surprise ARC showed up in my mailbox from TorNightfire and it sounds amazing! Recent Watches These were so much fun 😄    I have useless reviews up at letterbxd if you're dying to learn mor...

Here's some spooky recs for a blah Monday!

Hi everyone! I hope you're all reading some great stuff and that we've all been able to banish the slump once and for all. I haven't done so great with my September pile but I'm trying. If you need some spooky in your life, I'm currently reading these two and they are fantastic! Reviews coming soon. I'm serious this time, lol. Someone to Share My Nightmares by Sonora Taylor A band of bloodthirsty sea creatures terrorize a scientist and a journalist trapped in a Carolina cove. The seduction of a plumber making a house call becomes a nightmarish haunting for both parties. A woman transformed for her lover has second thoughts about just how good “together forever” can be. And the one man a woman wants for Christmas is the holiday demon sent to punish the wicked. "Someone to Share My Nightmares" is a tapestry of horrors interwoven with sensuality. Can our deepest fears be vanquished when they’re shared with someone else? Or is the danger doubled when two p...

It's been a little bit since I've done one of these because I have been horribly distracted but I've been doing my best to attempt to read each day and I haven't been bringing new books into the house so I don't have that guilt at least! I hope your reading lives have been better than mine. Here's what's possibly up next in my reading life (always subject to change based on mood and general flakiness):  I'm super excited to read both of these because they've received excellent reviews from people who read much faster than I ever will. Both are dark fiction and I might have to sneak something light and sexy in there as a breather - I just don't know what yet. If you have any recs let me know in the comments. Currently Reading: In Darkness Delight: Creatures of the Night is a (so far) solid collection of creepy crawly monsters with some nice surprises. It's perfect for me right now because I seem only able to read in sho...

Do you plan out your next read or are you a fly by the seat of the pants type of reader? I'm the latter but am trying to force myself to be the former and hope these kinds of posts will help me stay on the right path. At least until I get my to be reviewed stack finished up! I am embarrassed to admit that one of these books slipped through the cracks because I forgot to add it to my Goodreads bookshelf until yesterday. And I rely on that bookshelf to keep me from missing stuff. Ugh, why am I such a mess? Anyhow, next up is Chris Sorensen's THE HUNGRY ONES which is a sequel to his book THE NIGHTMARE ROOM   which I liked a whole bunch. I've been looking forward to it and regret that I accidentally put it off for this long.  Also up soon is VIOLET by Scott Thomas. This is by the author who wrote KILL CREEK and I loved that book so I have high hopes. Seeing as I'm one of the last to actually get it read, I've been doing my best to avoid all of the spoile...
