Can't Wait Wednesday (1)

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine.

The Boy On The Bridge by M.R. Carey
Releasing: May 2017!!
Sequel to The Girl With All The Gifts
Amazon ♦ Goodreads

Once upon a time, in a land blighted by terror, there was a very clever boy.

The people thought the boy could save them, so they opened their gates and sent him out into the world.

To where the monsters lived.

Now that's a nice, spoiler-free, succinct blurb, isn't it? The Boy on the Bridge is coming in May and I can't wait! I mistakenly thought Fellside was a sequel to The Girl With All The Gifts but I was terribly misled. I'll be grabbing this on audio as soon as I can!

What book are you most excited about this week?

  1. So excited to see you link up! I haven't read The Girl With All the Gifts although I did break down and already watch the movie. I know tons of people are looking forward to this one. Like you, I was almost sure Fellside was a sequel but I also think it was packaged to appear so - sneaky publicists. I'm pretty sure this is already on my wishlist seeing as how I obviously think I can read ALL the books.

    1. That was pretty sneaky of them. I'm still a little steamed about it but I'll buy this one anyway ;) I think can read ALL the books as well. I just hope my eyesight holds out!

  2. I liked the book of GWATG better than the film. I found the film a bit too dull although I very much liked Glenn Close in it. I will be looking at some reviews before I end up grabbing this one, just to be sure...That Fellside marketing was definitely tring to fool readers I think. It nearly got me...

    1. I still need to see the film. I was going to watch in on DirecTV and then went and watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe instead (it was so good, btw).
