My Book Corner

Image
Here's my little book corner where I go to hide away from the world. Do you have one? My house is small and cramped full of people and beasties so this is all I've got for now until we finish the basement. I hope to spend at least a little of the weekend here, probably with a beast or two demanding attention and knocking my book out of my hands, in between getting some sun. I have no clue what I'll be reading next but let's hope it's something awesome. Maybe this one because that cover is calling my name. What are you all up to?

Got My Eye On (13)

Image
I saw a post over at  Mailbox Monday  that was encouraging readers to share their best finds of the week via their  Books That Caught Our Eye  posts. I love, love, love that idea so this is my warped version of it. Here are the books I've added to my wishlist recently with credit to my enablers, along with the quote that sold me. Give them a visit, they're awesome :) Char's Horror Corner   Amazon ♦ Goodreads   Hell Hound by Ken Greenhall Horror Fiction ‘What are the possibilities of my strength? That is a thought I have never had before. What if some morning as the old woman stood at the head of the staircase she were suddenly to feel a weight thrusting against the back of her legs? What if she were to lunge forward, grasping at the air, striking her thin skull against the edge of a stair? What would become of me if she were found unmoving at the bottom of the stairway?’ Such are the thoughts of Baxter, a sociopathic bull terrier...

Can't Wait Wednesday (1)

Image
Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine . To find out more about linking in visit the Can't-Wait Wednesday page at Wishful Endings here . The Boy On The Bridge by M.R. Carey Releasing: May 2017!! Sequel to The Girl With All The Gifts Amazon  ♦  Goodreads Once upon a time, in a land blighted by terror, there was a very clever boy. The people thought the boy could save them, so they opened their gates and sent him out into the world. To where the monsters lived. Now that's a nice, spoiler-free, succinct blurb, isn't it? The Boy on the Bridge is coming in May and I can't wait! I mistakenly thought Fellside was a sequel to The Girl With All The Gifts but I was terribly misled. I'll be g...
