After the daily grind at their jobs all Sonya and Callie want is to enjoy a quiet night out together at a new restaurant. But making it to their reservation is proving to be a challenge. A few men on the street near their destination verbally assault them. And the situation quickly escalates into a nightmare. Once within the safety of the restaurant the two women discover it’s not just the men outside who’ve lost their minds, men everywhere have gone insane. And they believe they’ve found the origin of the mayhem. A radio in the kitchen is playing a hate filled message against women and it’s being delivered by the President. There’s only one way to stop the men from attacking women and logic tells them they need to terminate the chaos at its source.

My 2 Cents For Free!

I bought and read this book 100% for me after hearing so many friends talking about it. And, well, the title might’ve caught my attention too . . .

Sonya and Callie are stepping out for a nice meal after a long week of work when they’re accosted by a handful of men acting strangely and saying lewd things. At first they don’t think anything of it because some men can be dickish when you’re a lady all dressed up (or just a lady, really). But their inane sexual insults become increasingly more aggressive and they take cover in the restaurant only to discover that apparently all men have turned into horrifying, raping sex lunatics. Or all men that have been listening to a broadcast put out by the president. A broadcast filled with hate, vitriol and nonsensical insults about womankind.

Shit, I feel like this could happen!

Anyhow, things go from awful to terrifyingly horrific in a blink and things don’t let up from there. In order to stop the sex apocalypse a group of women survivors must do what is necessary to cut off the source of the broadcast and when they finally do IT IS GLORIOUS and cathartic but I will not spoil the fun for you.

If you are disgusted with a certain someone in charge and can stomach in your face graphic horror, I think you need to read this book. The ending will make you feel better. All the things my friends have been saying about this book are true. It’s angry and ridiculous and dark and disturbing and it cuts too close to the bone because some days, when I read too much Twitter or watch too much of the news, I feel like this sex plague inflicted on womankind might just happen. It’s gruesome and highly recommended if you don’t mind your horror super gross!
