High Fantasy with a double-shot of self-reinvention

Worn out after decades of packing steel and raising hell, Viv the orc barbarian cashes out of the warrior’s life with one final score. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and an unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen.

However, her dreams of a fresh start pulling shots instead of swinging swords are hardly a sure bet. Old frenemies and Thune’s shady underbelly may just upset her plans. To finally build something that will last, Viv will need some new partners and a different kind of resolve.

A hot cup of fantasy slice-of-life with a dollop of romantic froth.

My 2 Cents for Free!

This was such a cozy read. If you're in need of something comforting and aren't expecting (or wanting) any big irreversible traumatic thing to happen, I recommend giving this one a look. It's about an Orc barbarian who is tired of bloodshed and who only wants a quiet life and a shop she can call her own. After tasting coffee in her travels, she gets a taste for it and plans to open a little cafe that only serves coffee - except no one in the area where she has settled knows what this "bean water" is so she's got some convincing to do!

This is a book about found family and building something out of nothing with the help of a quirky little community. There might even be a little romance too. It's funny and sweet and if you go into it hungry you will develop an undying desire for cinnamon rolls. . .

All the stars and that's all I'm saying. You should spend your time reading it or listening to the perfectly narrated audiobook. I don't think you'll have regrets.
