TTT: Series I Wish I'd Finish (but probably never will)

Hey bookish friends! Today's TTT prompt is Series I’d Like to Start/Catch up on/Finish and boy do I have a bunch. I am the absolute worst at seeing a series through to its very end.

I only have 9 here because I need to get this scheduled before my laptop dies and I forget but there are probably 20 more I could add. Yikes.

The Anita Blake Series

I have a love/hate relationship with the series. I absolutely adored the first several books and I've stopped and started the series three times on audio getting maybe to book #9 and then I got aggravated with Anita and all of her boy toys and I quit it. There was also that time when the author was publicly extremely rude to many of her fans and it sorta turned me off things as well. I hate when that happens.

The Sookie Stackhouse Series

I also fell in love with series ages ago but I lost track of it when the tv series came out and never went back to them. I think I might've made it to book #3. Why am I like this?

The In Death Series

Are there really 56 of these now? OMG. According to Goodreads, it looks like I made it to book #6 before flaking out.

The Dresden Files Series

I thought I read a few of these but when I look at Goodreads I only have notes for the first book. Guess I got distracted by some new shiny thing. I hate that I do this.

The Beyond Series

There are nine or ten of these now. I liked the first one, read one of the mini's and then promptly forgot about the series. As I do.

The Merry Gentry Series

Yep, it's Hamilton again. This series at least was all about the sexy boy toys right out of the gate. I can respect that. I never did get past book 2 or 3 however and I have regrets about it.

The Parasol Protectorate Series

I read the first two but my brain has failed me so I'll have to reread them all on audio one of these days.

The Blud Series

I loved this book and look at that cover 👀 and I feel awful for forgetting about it.

The Whyborne & Griffin Series

This is another series I need to restart on audio before I die.

Ugh, so many books to read/reread! Are you a series completist or are you easily distracted and forgetful like me?

  1. I heard Sookie Stackhouse was fun. I always want to read more urban fantasy but I've been slacking...

  2. Ha ha. This list made me laugh! I'm awful at finishing series, too. Especially ones where there are big gaps between the books. I forget what's going on in the series and then feel like I have to re-read before I can continue with it and I HATE re-reading so I don't and, yeah...on and on and on. Glad I'm not the only one :)

    Happy TTT!

    1. Yes, this is so much me. I'll probably have to restart the Anita Blake series for the 4th time!

  4. I want to read the Dresden books, too, but it's so hard to take the time!

  5. I never read the sequel to Wicked as They Come either, and I completely forgot about it until just now. And I haven't finished the Dresden series either...I've read most of them, but when all the Fae stuff came into it I lost interest in it a little bit. And there's never enough time to go back and catch up. Not when there's so many new books out there to read. :D

    1. I'm glad I'm not alone in this, lol. I would like to get back to them some day but it seems that day never arrives.
