Cool to the Touch by Terry Maggert

Cool to the Touch, Short Horror Erotica As long as there is life, there will be the need for love. When a plague brings our worst fears to life, and the dead refuse to be still, one man is left with his own moral dilemma when he discovers the woman of his dreams isn't exactly alive. Nor is she completely dead. In this short tale of horror and erotica, we answer a question: How consuming is love? 4.5 out of 5, here's why: Cool to the Touch combines two things that should never, ever go together. Zombies and sex. Yeah, you read that right. Zombie sex. Sex with zombies. Not exactly the stuff of which dreams are made. “How consuming is love?” Would you believe me if I told you this is a sensitive and eloquently written tale of love, loss, lust and utter hopelessness? You should because it’s true. I quite enjoyed it. It’s not all up in your face gross as most of the “monster porn” I’ve read has a tendency to be (not that there's anything wrong with that ei...

Review: On the Night Border: Stories by James Chambers

Image
This collection of dark fiction has a little bit of everything. On The Night Border by James Chambers Published September 2019 Dark Fiction   |   Goodreads   |   Amazon   Source: Received for Review Consideration Dark things stir in the night. When the world sleeps and quiet settles in, shadows assume sinister shapes, guilt and regret well up from the mind’s deepest recesses, and the lonely face their greatest fears. Darkness bares the secret truths whispered on the lips of the lost and the desperate. At night, terrors come alive. For those who journey too far into the dark, no escape remains—but there is a place from which to view these nightmares, a place…on the night border. The fifteen stories collected here come from the last edge of the light and deliver glimpses into the dreadful, the mysterious, and the strange. These stories offer readers unsettling and weird visions from across the border, visions out of history and from th...

There might be a Horror Film review if I get my butt in gear, and there will be reviews by authors Ernest Cline,Tim Curran, Maria Semple and a short story freebie from H.P. Lovecraft &  Stephen King as well as a cookbook review for our furry friends. A little something for everyone, eh? May the bowl never be empty again! I am pretty much booked up with reading selections for the next month but if...

Keeping in Touch

Image
If you haven't noticed already, I'm kinda nosy. Today I got to wondering how the rest of you manage to read, blog, live life and keep up with your all of favorite blogs. Right now my patched together method consists of: Reciprocal Visits 1.  I always visit people when they comment on one of my posts and try to comment on theirs. I've made some great blogging friends with this method. Between work, kids, six pets and never-ending renovations at home some days this is all I am able to do. Does this make me selfish?! Wait. Don't answer that! I always feel a little bad doing it this way but it seems to be my default method. I know I'm missing out on some great posts and book recommendations (like I really  need more of those!) but it also means I never miss the people who take the time to visit me and that's super important to me. I realize not everyone can visit everyone's blog every single day so how do you manage to stay on top of your favorites? (...
